Terms and Conditions
By booking a move or using MoveLink services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Who We Are
MoveLink is a removals company. We carry out moves using our own trained crews and equipment. In the unlikely event that we are unable to perform your move ourselves — for example, due to capacity, location, or specialist requirements — we may assign one of our trusted partner removal companies to complete the move on our behalf. Where this occurs, we will notify you in advance and the partner will be required to perform the move in accordance with these terms and our service standards.
2. Quotes and Pricing
All quotes are based on the information you provide, including inventory, access conditions, and the addresses involved. Prices are quoted in Australian dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated. Our standard removals service is charged at a fixed hourly rate, with a minimum charge period that will be confirmed in your quote. Time is rounded up to the nearest 30-minute increment.
Additional services, packing materials, crate hire, tolls, parking fees, or access-related charges may apply and will be clearly outlined in your quote or booking confirmation.
3. Booking Confirmation
A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted your booking request and any required deposit has been paid. Until confirmation, dates and times are provisional and subject to availability.
You are responsible for ensuring your contact details, addresses, inventory, and any special requirements are accurate. Significant changes to the move details may affect pricing or our ability to complete the service.
4. Our Service
Our removals service typically includes loading, transport, and unloading of your items between the agreed addresses. Packing and unpacking services, dismantling, reassembly, and specialty item handling are only included where explicitly agreed in writing.
We will take reasonable care when handling your belongings. However, we are not liable for damage caused by inadequate packing (unless we packed the items), pre-existing damage, or items that are inherently fragile or improperly prepared for transport.
5. Your Responsibilities
By booking with MoveLink, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your move
- Ensure adequate and safe access at both pickup and delivery addresses
- Arrange suitable parking for our vehicle where required
- Disconnect appliances, electronics, and plumbing fixtures prior to our arrival, unless otherwise agreed
- Securely pack items that are not being packed by MoveLink
- Not include hazardous, illegal, perishable, or prohibited items in the load
- Keep valuables, important documents, jewellery, and cash with you
6. Insurance and Liability
MoveLink includes transit protection with every move, covering your belongings for loss or damage while they are in our care during transit. Full details of coverage, exclusions, and any claim limits will be provided with your quote.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any breach of these terms is limited to the re-supply of the service, repair or replacement of the affected items, or a refund of the fees paid for the relevant service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.
Any claim for loss or damage must be notified to us as soon as reasonably possible and, where practicable, at the time of delivery.
7. Eco-Friendly Moving Crate Hire
MoveLink provides reusable moving crate hire as part of our moving services. Crate hire prices are for 1 week of hire (7 days from the date of delivery). Extended hire beyond the initial week will incur additional charges, which will be confirmed at the time of booking or extension.
By hiring crates through MoveLink, you agree to:
- Use crates only for their intended purpose of packing and moving household or office items
- Not overload crates beyond their safe weight capacity
- Keep crates in reasonable condition during the hire period
- Make crates accessible for collection at the agreed time and location
- Not sublet, re-hire, or transfer crates to any third party
You are responsible for crates while they are in your possession. Damaged, lost, or unreturned crates may be charged at the replacement rate stated in your quote. Once crates have been delivered, hire fees are non-refundable except where required by the Australian Consumer Law.
Free delivery and pickup is included within the standard service area for qualifying packages. Deliveries outside this area may incur additional fees. We are not responsible for delays caused by traffic, weather, or access issues at the delivery address.
8. Payments
A deposit or payment may be required to confirm your booking. The balance is payable in accordance with the payment terms set out in your booking confirmation. We accept the payment methods listed at checkout. Failure to make payment may result in cancellation of the booking or withholding of goods until payment is received.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made as soon as possible. Deposits may be refundable depending on the notice period provided, as set out in your booking confirmation. Cancellations made within a short notice period may forfeit the deposit or incur a cancellation fee.
Refunds will be assessed in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law and any relevant consumer protection legislation. We do not offer refunds for change of mind where the service has already been provided.
10. Delays and Access Issues
We make every effort to arrive and complete your move on time. However, we are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including traffic, weather, road conditions, incorrect addresses, or inadequate access at the property.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible. We will investigate and respond to complaints in a timely manner. Where appropriate, we will work with you to reach a fair resolution.
12. Changes to These Terms
MoveLink may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be published on this page. Continued use of our services after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute arising from these terms or our services is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
